Valley of Fire, Nv
It is about 35-45 minutes drive from Las Vegas, going north
on Hwy 15. It is a area of red
sandstone rocks, with its wind blown rocks. It is a great area for fine art
photographers, with
it many area to shoot. Color would be the best, but if you like to shoot infrared,
the tones of the
red sandstone will comes out light gray. But if you just shoot B/W then the
red sandstone
will comes out a dark gray tone, not the best for my taste. Pics was taken
in October of 2007
Canon 1Ds MkII with 24 mm to 70 mm zoom lenses.

There are stone house and some of what the area look like.
When I first went to the Valley of Fire
there was no sign saying that I cannot go on the rock to the arch area, but
now there is a keep off the
rock sign, at the arch.

More pics of the sandstone, showing the many area a photographer can shoot, with a model.

There is so many great area to shoot, you will never get bore of the place, I don't.

If you like to shoot infrared, or wonder what it look like,
these 2 pictures was shot with a Canon
Rebel, that was converted to infrared only. A 19 mm Carl Zeiss lenses was
also part of the
system. I also turn the b/w images into more of a brown/gray tone.
